Microsoft Word for Microsoft 365

Microsoft Word for Microsoft 365 is a subscription-based word processor that can also handle basic PDF tasks. It can open many PDFs by converting them into editable Word documents, and it can export documents to PDF for sharing, review, or printing.

It is used by office staff, legal and administrative teams, educators, and other knowledge workers who already work in Microsoft 365. A distinguishing trait is that PDF editing is secondary to document authoring: Word is useful for light PDF revisions and PDF generation, but it is not a dedicated PDF editor for complex layouts, forms, or production workflows.
